Vesthimmerland Vinter Cross Cup

Denne cup som finder sted i Vesthimmerland Kommune må siges at være tilfredsstillende. Det gælder på flere parametre!

Jeg har sagt det før, og siger det igen! Trail og cross løb er hyggeligt på en helt bestemt facon.
Samtidig med at der er en fantastisk hyggelig stemning, så er der også et hav af præmier – noget til enhver smag!
VVCC består af fire forskellige løb, som bliver afholdt første søndag hver måned (november – februar).

Første runde “Paradiset” er en lille skov, der ligger ud mod Limfjorden sydvest for Gedsted.
Ruten går rundt i Paradisskoven, men også ad små stier langs levende hegn, og ud over engene og over grøfter. Ej forglemme at der på markerne også er huller, og huller har det med at blive fyldt med vand efter regnbyger. En blanding mellem god blæst, temperatur lige på frysepunktet, en knap så frisk og opmærksom løber (dagen inden løb jeg 1/2 marathon på 1:14) måtte jeg som den første få iskolde og våde fødder. Det er omvendt det, som gør crossløb så sjovt! Det er netop det man husker allerbedst. Jeg vinder 1. runde i tiden 32,42 (8km) efterfulgt af Mads Klinksgaard i tiden 33,52.

Anden runde foregik i “Skovbakker” som er det yderste område af Louns Halvøen. Her er der 3 vandrestier af forskellige længder. Fælles for dem er, at det er gode trailruter.
Den tur vi løb på, gik langs stranden uden at det dog var kedeligt af den grund. En ting jeg synes, som var det ledeste på denne rute var at efter et godt nedløb, skulle man stoppe helt op, løbe til højre, åbne en port, og så gik det nærmest lodret op. Et meget krævende stykke både fysisk men specielt også teknisk.
Jeg havde snakket med min træner om, at jeg skulle træne det mentale i dette løb, og spare mig selv. Simpelthen starte roligt, og måske løbe bag nummer 1 eller 2 og rykke til sidst. Dette var planen indtil Mads desværre løb forbi porten til at starte med. Nu var den plan ikke længere realistisk, for her kunne jeg så rykke og vinde mere tid, uden at det vil koste mig meget mere energi. Jeg vinder anden runde (9km) i tiden 35.19 skarpt efterfulgt af Mads Klinksgaard 36.47 (stærkt løbet!)

 

Tredje runde fandt sted i Uhrehøj Plantage, som er en stor, kuperet skov som ligger mellem Standby og Farsø. Datoen var 1. januar! Så måtte man prioriterer dagen forinden, hvad man havde af mål.
Ruten gik gennem plantagen på varieret underlag (ujævnt!), men også ad små stier langs levende hegn, og ud over det åbne. Der var to “helvedes stigninger” på ruten, som fik smagen af jern frem i munden. Af en eller anden grund er der noget tilfredsstillende ved den smag. Benene syrer godt til, og når man er kommet op for enden af bakken, så flader det lidt ud, men farten kan nærmest ikke øges før det går ned igen.
Det var uden tvivl et rigtig godt løb med en masse tekniske stier, som jeg lærte godt af. En helt anden ting var efter løbet, hvor der kom den sødeste familie over til mig og sagde “det er så vildt at se dig løbe. Man kan slet ikke høre dig komme susende forbi.” 😉 Den kommentar faldt i rigtig god jord!
Jeg vinder igen, muligvis fordi jeg ikke havde en vild nytårsaften, i tiden 31,39 (8km) efterfulgt af Heine Laursen i tiden 34,28

 

Sidste runde, som jeg fra tilmeldingsdagen frygtede allermest, blev løbet i Vesterbølle Plantage, som er en middelstor skov, der ligger ved Vesterbølle mellem Sognevejen og Evaslundvej.
Ruten gik rundt i skoven, både på stier og offroad. Det i sig selv er måske ikke så slemt, men så prøv at løb turen kl 18.30 i mørke med en pandelampe, og med en konkurrent (Marc Laursen) i hælene på sig. FØJ! Det var spændende. Jeg havde været ude at løbe det meste af ruten med min kammerat Mads Dollerup, som fint kunne huske ruten, hvilket gav mig mere ro i maven. Der var et par gode stejle og korte stigninger, som jeg efterhånden er ekspert i. Jeg følte min bakketræning i Dollerup kom mig til gode netop her. For nu kunne jeg pludselig sætte en spurt ind på sådan en stigning. Det betød alt for mig, at jeg kunne vinde den sidste runde, så jeg kom fra VVCC med fire sejre og 200 point. Jeg vandt i tiden 31,44 (8km) efterfulgt Mads Klinksgaard i tiden 33,16.

 

Hvis du har lyst til at løbe en hyggelig cross cup, hvor du kan blive udfordret af naturen og andre, så synes jeg helt sikkert du skal overveje at deltage i næste omgang. Jeg kan på det varmeste anbefale løbet til alle – nybegynder eller øvet. Enten løber man den 4-4,5 km rute én eller to gange. Stemningen inden og efter løbet er helt unikt, og der er plads til alle.
